About Us

Having always been asked to recommend places to visit or restaurants to try we thought why not create a blog as a place to share our travel stories, love of fine dining restaurants and great tasting food for everyone.

So Who do I do  was born as a travel, food and lifestyle couples blog where we share unique travel experiences and adventures, boutique stays and the best restaurants and foods to sample around the world.  We bring you the next destination to add to your bucket list – best things to do, where to stay and eat and our top tips.

We work as a team by writing the blog posts, editing the photos and working on social media.

Who We Are

We are Ian and Lana, an adventurous couple from the UK.

We met via a text message out of the blue

Two dreamers now sharing the same dream!

She said ‘Hi’ (2008), she said ‘Yes’ (2011), they said ‘I Do’ (2016)

Celebrating our honeymoon in Samoa

Our passion for travel has lead us to exploring secluded beaches, finding and sharing those unique boutique hotels, discovering some hidden gems during our road trips or planning a romantic weekend.

We don’t have a specific travel style and can range from budget to luxury!  Our travels have included glamping under the stars in the Sahara Desert, staying in small luxury boutique hotels, camping at cool campsites in the UK and France, road tripping in a campervan in Australia, long weekend trips in Europe and surprise romantic getaways.  As you get to know us, you’ll find that we do love our surprises!

Climbing the dunes in the Sahara Desert

Even though we’re not considered ‘young’ in some people’s eyes, we do love the rush of adrenaline mixed in with our adventure travel;  find us exploring islands by quad biking, snowboarding down steep mountains or being thrill seekers on the Nevis Arc Swing in New Zealand.

Live Your Life Now – Do it! Don’t just think it!

A bit about Ian …

I’m Ian, and have, for the last 60+ years, been busy experiencing what this planet has to offer and still find there is so much more to see and do.  I suppose you could call me, entrepreneurial, or as I prefer, ‘having a low boredom threshold’ as after about 3 years I need to move on and learn something new.  Which is why my career consists of start-ups that I’ve mostly sold on, have shelved or in one instance lost altogether.  My companies have ranged from – restaurant, gym/personal training, property development, web design and event management – to name but a few, and three visits to University to obtain degrees in Psychology, Telecommunications and Computers.  I love the gym, snowboarding, mountain biking, cooking, films & video games.

A bit about Lana …

I’m Lana, not been around quite as long as Ian 😆 but definitely realise that life is not all about work!  My career is not so varied but I have worked in various areas of drug safety and have also been to University too, with a Degree in Microbiology and a Masters in Management Science.  I was a bit of a water baby growing up, fell in love with swimming and eventually learned to scuba dive in my teens.  Don’t know what it is … but it just seems to be a different world underwater.  My love for travel started with family trips that included, Hong Kong, Israel and Thailand.  After graduating and finding a job, I saved my pennies and couldn’t wait to see the world.  Hobbies include gym, pole fitness, snowboarding, mountain biking and scuba diving.  Can you tell that I leave the cooking for Ian – ha ha!  He does make amazing pizzas!
